The Foundation for American Christian Education is pleased to announce

a lecture in a series of Lessons in Liberty

Gary Porter will present:

Education and the Constitution:

What is the Role of Civil Government in the Teaching of Children?

On Monday, March 12th in our classroom and live online, 7:00-8:30 pm EST

What role does the Constitution give government in education? Any at all?  The Founders were divided on this point; nearly all saw an educated and informed citizenry (the two are not the same) as essential to the success of republicanism; how to achieve that -- ah, there's the rub.  To what extent could or should they enlist the power of government?

Come learn what the Constitution says on this topic, what the founding generation did in response, and then decide for yourself whether anything should be done to change things.

Gary Porter is Executive Director of the Constitution Leadership Initiative, a program to promote a better understanding of the U.S. Constitution among the American people, and a volunteer docent at The Foundation for American Christian Education.

To register, go to FACE.net/LessonsInLiberty. A charge of $10 (individual or family) includes the live presentation, video-recorded session and handouts.
